Most exchanges charge everyone the same fee regardless of how much they trade. Freedx does not work that way. The more active you are, the less you pay, and the VIP program is what makes that happen automatically.

Mini Blog: Freedx VIP Program – What It Is and How to Qualify

01

What the VIP program actually does

Your VIP level determines your trading fees on both spot and futures markets. As your level goes up, your fees go down. There are 20 tiers in total, running from VIP 0, the starting level every account begins at, up to VIP 20, reserved for the highest-volume traders on the platform.

The system updates automatically every 24 hours. You do not apply for a tier or contact support to request an upgrade. Freedx simply checks your activity and adjusts your level accordingly.

02

How your tier is calculated

You qualify for a VIP level by meeting any one of three criteria, whichever you hit first: your total asset balance held on Freedx, your 30-day spot trading volume, or your 30-day futures trading volume. You only need to satisfy one of the three, not all of them.

This matters because it means there is more than one path to lower fees. A trader with a large balance who trades infrequently can still reach a higher tier through balance alone. An active day trader with a smaller balance can climb through volume instead. Both routes lead to the same lower fees.

03

Why it matters for active traders

Fees add up fast when you are trading frequently. At the base level, a $500 spot trade as a taker costs $1 in fees. That might not sound like much on a single trade, but multiply it across dozens or hundreds of trades a month and it becomes a meaningful cost. Climbing even a few VIP tiers can cut that cost significantly over time.

For traders operating at real volume, this is not a minor perk. It is often the difference between a strategy being profitable after fees or not. The VIP program exists specifically to reward the traders bringing the most activity to the platform with the pricing that reflects it.

04

A quick look at what changes as you climb

At VIP 0, spot trading costs 0.15% maker and 0.20% taker. By VIP 4, which requires $500,000 in 30-day spot volume or the equivalent balance, spot taker fees drop to 0.10%, half the starting rate. The reductions continue at every subsequent tier, with the highest levels reserved for traders operating at institutional scale.

Getting started

Every account starts at VIP 0 with no action required. From there, your level moves up naturally as your trading activity or balance grows. There is nothing to set up and nothing to request. Just trade, and the system takes care of the rest.
